Is it ok to drill three holes in the back of a 29gal tank?I want to drill 2 1 1/4 and 1 1 1/2 inch holes. The 2 1 1/4 holes will be more then half way down and about 1/4 of the way in from the sides. the 1 1/2 hole will be about 1/4 of the way down from the top in the middle.

I am scared the LFS will drill it to get money weather its safe or not.

If this is not safe I am not against a U tube closed loop.

Thanks Teddy.

First off, is it glass or acrylic? I'll assume it is glass.

What brand of tank is it?

Most smaller tanks these days are tempered meaning that if you try and drill it, you'll end up with a bazillion pieces of shattered glass.

Yes its glass,Sorry.
I do not know the brand of tank, it was given to me. The reason for drilling the back was because I thought only the bottom would be tempered.
I would say its more the 5 years old.But thats just a guess.
