OK, this isn't fair. I want one of these guys now.
I have been trying to look him up on the web, but I keep getting reference material, not retail information.

Tom,
While I am flattered ( I assume you are a Brit), I make a terrible Brit.

My Southern accent is pretty thick. While I was in Italy visiting a friend, a waitress mistook me for an Australian. She couldn't place my accent, and she said "Australia"? This was hilarious, because there was a table of Australians sitting about 5 feet away that were laughing their butts off. After she walked away with our order, I looked over at the table of Aussies and just said "G'day Mates" ( in my best Paul Hogan accent) with a smile holding up my glass of vino. They thought I was being funny. We ended up running around with them for the next 3 days.

Sorry to hijack your thread... ok... back to the fish .

Let me get this right; there was a table full of Australians laughing and you looked over and said G'day to the table of New Zealanders. Were they laughting too? What were the odds of getting Australians, Kiwis and Yanks all together in the same establishment in Italy.

Hey Adrian, if you're going to be pedantic, spell pedantic correctly. :P

:D

That's where I got my Eviota pellucida. The one that is listed as "Neon Eviota Goby".

Either of you have some of the reference links? I wouldn't mind doing some research. :D

Don't worry. My American accent is pretty terrible, so if I promise to attempt a Southern US accent from time to time, it would cancel out. :D

Hey, they've got some T. caudomaculatum there...

Also, the one at the top of the goby page is a Ptereleotris grammica. Fairly rare until very recently. Similar in behavior to a firefish.

Looks like your store is catching some fish locally. They've got a non-native Pomacanthus maculosus (Map Angel) in there on the front page. :D

Nice selection.

OK, sorry, I used Kiwi's when I should have just said Australians right out. I apologize for improper use of ethnic nicknames.
No NewZealanders... Just Aussies. I pormise to stop trying to be cute.

It was a table of 3 Australians. They told me to never say "G'day" ever again. I really liked them. They were the friendliest tourists I came across. They had been traveling all over Europe for almost a year. And they were just having the best time.
They were all taking a year to travel before University.
As an American, I felt very at ease with them. No judgements of me.
Unfortunately, I had only planned on staying 4 days, and I didn't have the money to stay longer. I met more Aussies. There were almost more of them, than there were Americans where we stayed.

Again, I apologize to any Australians for calling them Kiwi's if that was incorrect. And vice versa to the Kiwi's.

Aussies are some of the easiest people to get on with in my experience. They make even an uptight Brit relax!

Two of my best friends here in Tokyo are Aussies. :D

It's a really good shop and I'm going to miss it when I go back. :)
