I have been very busy lately. I don't have the time to check the calcium level in my 150 gals reef tank. I checked last week and it read at 500+ ppm. What can i do to drop it back down to 450 safely. I did 30 gals water change every week.

500ppm isn't critically high. Just make sure ALK and Magnesium aren't low and you're fine.

If you're still concerned you might want to determine where the calcium is coming from. First test your new saltwater.

what salt mix are you using? Oceanic has insanely high calcium levels.

It's interesting you have those high levels though. Throw some SPS & a few clams in there and it should take care of the calcium levels without issue :)

I have a few pieces of SPS. But i can't have claim in my tank. I have 14 diff type of wrasses. I know they will love me after i put the claim in. As far as salt mix, i am using the tropic marin pro series. Or should i just go with the catalina salt water for awhile till my calcium drop. cuz i heard catalina water doesn't have much calcium and mag

Well I'm unsure of that particular salt mix, maybe mix up a super small batch and test the calcium? But if you don't want to pay for the cost of catalina SW (unless you live near that exclusive pier that allows you to get your own for free), try instant ocean salt mix, that is known for having really low calcium ~320ppm.

I can get the catalina salt water for free, cuz i work at the LFS on sat and sun. But i heard catalina saltwater isn't good for the SPS. I am not sure.
