I keep waffling back and forth on this. My main system is in a few tanks right now as I build my new fishroom. The old system was a 240, 75, 55 plumbed together with a 75 gal used as a sump. I am planning on the new system having the 240, a 125, 2x75 and the 55 plumbed together with a 46 gal as the sump. The plan for the sump is a place to plumb the skimmer to, and add doses and top off water. There will be a cryptic sump, and refigium plumbed to it as well. Thoughts

now that I think about it the 46 is going to be to small. With all the flow I will have in the sump I'm sure it need to be bigger. Any one want to suggest a size?

I'd go with the largest sump that you have room for. Added capacity is a nice feature of a large sump.

I have a 150 underneath my 300G. It's really to big, meaning not enough clearance above, but it us still nice to have all that capacity.

Are you using a tank for other container? My sump space is under the staires so I have a pretty large abount of space avalible for it.

Yep. It's a glass tank that glasscages.com made into a sump for me. It measures 48X24X31. It's called a 150 tall.
