construction question about weight on top of tank

hello guys, i have a question about putting more weight on top of the tank. right now i have a 180 gallon with a canopy, i am thinking about adding a refugium on top of the canopy. if i put 100 more pounds on top of the tank, what part of the setup will be stressed (tank, stand, or both?). i am worried about putting more weight if it stresses the tank, my stand and canopy are both very strong so i don't worry about them. tia

My concern would be making it so top heavy that it could fall over. Attaching the top of the stand to the wall should be pretty easy.

Could you maybe make a cabinet off to the side of the tank for the fuge? That's my plan. I'd be afraid of putting something too heavy up there.

how would you open your tank top to get to it with a fuge there... unless you plan on never touching the tank again O_O god you know u gottaa move that live rock around and play with your shrimp

i had a friend taht did it... he went crazy the next day he relized what he did... tried to point it out to hima s he was doing it BUT NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

anyways. are you any good with wood and such and building stuff. if so ill post a nice pict of a fuge that some one built above teh tank. if you arnt i ( not being mean) i wont waste my time looing for it ( i have over 30 gigs of pictures on my computer slowly orginizing them)
