The admins and mods here are ... people... they are one of us they dont think that they are GODS and RULE THE EARTH abd KNOW EVERYTHING. ( unlike another site. altho waterkeeper is the only nice one there.. hmm)


oneproblom that i see is lack of activity rc is to active this is alil slow . gotta advertise more i guess ** goes off to buy a RDO bumper sticker and hang at fish stores telling people bout it**


really think putting one full page add in one magizine for one month would definitly give this site a nice boost

JohnL is into the cash - I understand, we all have bills to pay.

That said, the mods "over there" are trying to be supercops it seems. Funny since they're volunteers.

I used to be on R.O exclusively, migrated to the "other site" and eventually got booted.

My only concern here was sometimes it was pretty wild-west with all the arguing and namecalling, but Righty convinced me it got under control.

So I'm back. I think I even have a squat.

Thank you R.O for being so cool, not taking mod volunteering too seriously, and providing an excellent forum for reef discussion.

Advanced Aquarist is excellent too.

Yep - I tried not to mention the site specifically. I noticed a whole lot of people with quality posts have been kicked off from there.

But definitely let's stay positive. I'll just say it's nice not to be harassed by mods when my posts are called "excellent" by other users.

R.O is exceptional. I'll do my part to keep it that way - I even changed my inflammatory, political sig and avatar just to be respectful.

I don't need to be patronized or threatened, and that doesn't happen here. I like R.O

I try to stay away from politics and religion, but some people take any discussion on the web to be in that realm.

I understand why there are tang police (I'm one too), but yelling at people doesn't change their opinion. Whispering is a better way.

At least here it's not the mods doing the patronizing. I avoid the Sump since I can't convince anyone to vote like me anyway.

Hey Mike, once in a while, spam filters will consider reefs.org emails as spam. I would check with your spam filter and/or the one of your service providers (Yahoo has been known to filter our emails).

Agreed. This is the best reef BB going. I know this because of the help everybody gives/receives here. AND because I've only gotten close to being banned from the sump and not actually banned.

Your hardware won't make a difference. Has to be a software filter someplace. My ISP does Spamfiltering before I get it. I am able to adjust it, but I have to know there is a problem. I also use Thunderbird for email and it's Junk filter picks up the rest of the common day to day spam.

Could be that your ISP may have a filter system in place.

Problem solved. SBC has a contract with Yahoo and Yahoo was considering reefs.org spam. Thanks for the help.

Here i can go LADIDADIDADADA and not get booted O_O btw i really think rdo needs the user cp like "the other site" so you can loook there to see for replies instead of email. i used to run a phpbb site from a home server YAY FOR ME.. and i may still have that mod some where..... god was that annoying to install
