myself, I'm waiting on a hydor water directional unit for my nano- damned Marine Depot didnt bother telling me it was back-ordered, waited 7 working days for it to arrive before I called them- bastiges. Thats one more place that wont be getting my money again.

I had a helluva time finding sand. Wrong time of year for it to be in stock I guess.

Flames or no flames, I consider my tanks in top form. All I have to do is read all the maintenance others have to do to verify that.

Now if I can just get the surge thing working.....

My Nano is doing VERY well. It may be a little sparse as far as corals go, but considering how young it is, the tank is already supporting a wide veriety of life and is quite pretty in a minimalist sort of way.

My only problem is my LFS knowing me to well, and keeps showing me odd stuff that you don't generally see around. For example, I purchased a decorator crab from him. His entire sales pitch: Hey Brett, check this out... :p

Mine looks awesome!!!!!

I do have some annoying algae, and am in the middle of removing the sand bed, but the corals look great.

Mine is getting there..I need some more SPS and Acro frags, but its getting to the way Id like it...Also after two years of the coralline being gobbled up by my urchin, i removed it last night to try to get the coralline going...Lawdawg is right, there is something always needing change (in our own minds atleast) which makes it that more exciting :D

I've got to do some work on mine, but sorta held up with $$ issues right now :(

I want to get another tank and move my damsel to the 25, and move the denizens of the 25 to the new tank.

Plans include a sump, I got better lighting already, want to get better skimmer, etc.

My nano is coming along ok. All the critters are happy so far (knock on salt) I'd like to pick up a few more softies from the LFS, but like I said...money probs right now :(

Sometimes I like my tanks. Other times I would like to smash them with a sledge hammer. Then, even more often, I would like to take the sledge hammer to the lfs and go to work on making the glass tanks turn back into sand.

Podman, I agree.

My tank is often not in the condition I think it should be, although it has not had any major problems for years. There are always vacations, temperature spikes or a mistake with water top off. But the other problem is that when the tank is at it's best I decide to change something. Like now, my tank is looking excellent every thing is happy so do I leave well enough alone and enjoy it? NO! I am removing the power heads and adding a closed loop with a SCWD. Honestly I just don't seem to know how to sit back and enjoy a tank that is doing great.

I'm not taking the downsizing of the tank too well at all. My 30 gallon is nearly filled up, and it has it's one fish, and it's just kinda 'there' in my bare apartment. I dunno...I enjoy looking at it, and it's not a problem to do the water changes and additives. I dunno...

Peace,

Chip

I'm pretty happy with my tank. I've got a few more pounds of rock to add, and some more LPS to buy/trade, but overall I'm pretty stoked.

www.bad-coffee.com is a pic from yesterday. There's still some bryopsis on the back wall, along with some light cyano. Since I still consider this a new tank, I'm not worried about it. It's been set up for about a month or so, but most everything came from a different tank I had set up.

I'd hate my tank if it was perfect, I'd have no reason to muck around, no reason to do research, no reason to post on message boards, look for new equipment, etc :)

But seriously I enjoy my smaller 10 gallon which was a 5 gallon much more than my 55 gallon ever. The 55 gallon was just way too much work. True I can't put every thing I find in a smaller tank but I think the bang for the buck ratio is much higher.

Podman, you took the words right outa my mouth! :D My tank looks like **** right now because one of the bulkheads on my sump busted and leaked all over the kitchen. I have my tank in emergency state, which means that the heater, old powerheads, old skimmer, etc are hanging out the front. The algae film on the glass and flatworms add a nice touch also I'd say. I'm in the process of building another sump as I speak...

MY tank is looking good for the moment. I'd like to see more coral growth and more coralline, but that's due to low CA, which is totally fixable.

My nano, well I just started it over from the beginning. I love the rock, can't wait for the cycle to be done, can't wait to start stocking corals. Can't wait..

My husband's nano is another story.. cotton candy algae infestation.. macros growing way out of control. I'm embarrassed to let people in the house to see it.
