Cheap and EZ QT?

Hi All!
I am thinking about making some type of a Quarantine Tank for future purchases/acquisitions. (I've never had problems before, but I figure why push my luck.)

What would be an easy and cheap way to get this done? I'de be looking to QT things like small corals, and the occasional fish.

The size of the QT tank depends on the size of the fish you will be QTing. That depends on how much to spend

My tank is only 29 Gal, so I am severaly limited in fish size. At the top end, I'm looking at 3 inch fish. Would a 10 gal tank be an OK QT? What king of filtration would it need?

a simple hang on filter with the media removed will work fine. Throw some pvc fittings in there for the fish to hide in/around No rock, no substrate.

Ok,
So a ten gallon tank with a HOB filter. Got it.

Now once it's set up, do you keep the same water in it the whole time it's set up? I'm sure you do water changes... care like a reg tank. But do you break it down between "additions"?

You can also use the ever popular rubbermaid containers. If it were me I would start new with each batch of things you are going to QT.
