bits of metal floating around

Every time i drip kalk in my tank i see something that looks like tinfoil floating in the tank. These are very small objects about the size of a few grains of sand. When i drip kalk i mix a little acetic acid with calcium hydroxide. i have seen carbonate precip before but this is very different. Anyone know why this tinfoil looking stuff is being formed.

how pure is your Kalk? if it's just 'calcium hydroxide' then it could be really dirty. Use food grade or lab grade (if you can find it cheap)
