I have a hex tank which is 15" wide by 21" high. Currently the only occupant (apart from a few softy frags) is a juvinile true perc. It's only about 0.75".

I've been trying to find a companion for it, but all the LFSs have false percs. I have however been given the offer of an established pair from a friends tank. They are approx 2".

Would I have problems adding these to the tank?

I am setting up a new tank shortly, so if there is a problem, I'll move the small guy into the bigger tank, so if I do have probs, it will be a temp issue.

My prediction is that once one of the True Ocellaris Clownfish matures into a female it will kill the Percula.

Sorry, I've not been clear. The pair are also true percs...meaning there would be 3 true percs in the tank.

Just my two cents here but, I believe it will depend on the temperment of your current one. I had a pretty large Clarkii in my tank for about a year and the bought 2 babys from a LFS he said not to do it but I had a 100 gallon tank and lots of rock work. The large one chased the little ones for about a week and from then on its all peachy. The all share a pretty large grouping of condy anenomes and they seem to be one big happy clarkii family :P

You might set up a family unit.

edit: By that I mean they might setup a family unit. No action required on your part.

Ahhh, you were clear, my reading was defective.

I still predict a mature pair killing off the odd man out. I've seen Ocellaris creat families for extended time periods but never Percula. It's certainly possible but not very likely to work long term.

I have three ocellaris in my tank. The odd "man" out has remained tiny but I have never seen it bullied by the couple. Sometimes it even does the shimmy dancing thing with them. :)
