I bought two of those slugs years ago and it took a few minutes to realise that I hadn't been sent an empty plastic bag. They were incredibly small. I tried seperating them from the rest of the tank and putting small rocks with the *****sia's in with them. Nothing happened, I couldn't find the slugs and gave up on them from that point forward.

Are there any suppliers of these critters and are they normally that small? Will they survive in my reef and how much of their food do they need in a 100g reef to be able to find it and not die of starvation?

If they worked, I'd love to get some and pass them to other people in my area to help with their pests.

I've seen one guy, but I'm not sure how credible he is so I didn't buy any. He was selling them for $15 each plus $4 for s/h.

I've heard that about 50% of them die or disappear in the tank without having eatten anything. Alot of things eat them and they're usually shipped 1/2 inch and sometimes less.

Where did you get yours and at what price?

As I say, it was a long time ago. At least 3 years. No idea who I bought it from but I typically buy from those with good reputations.

Sorry for the misunderstanding. I meant where did Flame get his and at what price.

I have an aiptasia problem right now. I cant find any nudi, every shrimp I put in there gets eatten by my SL crabs and copperbands are suddenly scarce. :(

Ya but the problem is you'd have to FW dip the rock as well, which will also kill everything on it. Unless you get the aiptasia off, a risky process at best because if you leave any part of it or break it apart then each part will grow a new one.

If one crops up in an area that could cause immediate problems, do folks have success by simply making the thing retract into a hole and them putting a blob of epoxy over it? I have one or two that I'd like to target for garanteed elimination.

I have killed a few in my nano by putting kalk paste over the hole instead of epoxy.

In my 90g the pepermint shrimp made short work of what came in on the LR. My tank has been shrimpless for the last few months, and I have had no new aptasia.
