Hi Thomas, flatworms are in lots of systems and are controllable and when controlled really not that bad. Heck Inland Aquatics have them in almost all of their tanks.
Without knowing your tank size and it's inhabitants I can only offer you broad solutions. But flatworms (the red kind which I assume you have) feed off of detritus and other waste. You need to eliminate their food source as best you can. Suck up as many as you can and remove them from your tank. Increase your circulation especially where the flatworms are gathering.
Now after removing as many flatworms as you can, and if you have increased the flow in the tank and there is no dead spots. You can blow off the ones you can't suck out and they will just perish while being waterborne. Depending on how many you have you will have to repeat this step many times. And actually the more the better and the sooner you can eliminate them from your system.
let me elaborate: little round disc with a dark spot in the middle about the size of a pea, they are very thin, and seem to live on my glass a little but mostly on my mushrooms and xenia.... does this help a bit????
thanks for helping just trying to get the specifics
