I have an Iwaki WMD30RLXT on my 92 corner. It just died on me yesterday. I am now going to buy a new pump but im not sure what to get. I liked the Iwaki but its only like a year old and already dead. What is a good brand? Little Giant, Quiet One, etc. etc. I have not been reading up on here in a long time so I am not sure what is popular anymore.

Thanks,
Shane

YGM, Shane.

My experience with Little Giant is worse than Iwaki, but overall, both are decent pumps. IME, Iwaki is better build, esp. with the Japanese motor. If I remember correctly, there are some "generic" Iwaki that maybe cheaper.

Yes, never reduce the intake. It will cause cavitation and reduce the useful life of the pump. I'm surprised your Iwaki gave out. I've never had an Iwaki last less than 10 years.

So its ok to reduce the outlet side then?

Yep. No harm in reducing the output side but it will, of course, reduce the flow rate.
