light hood trouble.

I just acquired a new (to me ) JBJ PC Light hood and the fans are horrendously loud. now my question is can I run pc's without using the fans?? The fans are on a seperateswitch so that I can turn them on or off when I please.

Would not running the loud fans be feasible or am I running the risk of a major melt down?

See if you can find a replacement muffin fan in computer/reef store. Some of these Taiwanese/Chinese fans have problem with bearing. Get a better one this time.

I'd say it would depend on how many bulbs are in the hood. 4 or less, and you could get away without using a fan.

I beleive not using cooling fans will shorten bulb life too. If there is a built in ballast it will suffer too.

its two 96 watt bulbs. Banging it has helped
