Anyone know anything about the guitar fish? My local store has one and I like it. I can not find any info about it in my books. Is is reef safe? Does anyone know anything about it. The fish store owner tells me it is reef safe. Thanks

If I recall there are about 37 valid species of Rhinobatos (Guitarfish) and being members of the Order: Rajiformes (Skates and Rays) they feed primarily on small fish, crustaceans, worms, etc. So while they will not harm corals (they will topple them over) they will make a mess of your sandbed and eat most of your cleanup crew. Some can also grow quite large. Do you have any idea what species this is or where it was collected?

Just told me guitarfish. Did not tell me where it is from. But if it is going to eat my cleanup crew and knock over coral I do not want it. It is about 8 inches long right now. Thanks for the info.
