The BTA that I just bought 2 days ago wandered and got stuck on the strainer of my power filter..I did a search this morning and many have said that it will detach itself eventually, but it looks pretty torn to me. I took off the strainer, and by nighttime, it'd attached itself to some live rock, clutching onto the strainer ... my 4 questions are:

1. When will it completely release the strainer?
2. Is it advisable to try to remove it from the strainer myself?
3. For future reference, what can you use to cover the intake of water from the power filter, and make it still look aesthetically pleasing?
4. Chances are, it'll be ok, right?

Thanks a lot!

Just let the anemone remove itself from the strainer, don't try to pull it off.
Buy a small piece of fiberglass window screen, cut it to fit around the strainer and superglue it on. It is not noticeable like sponges etc. This will cut down on the flow so you may need to purchase a more powerful powerhead or purchase additional powerheads to make up for the loss of circulation. You will also have to clean them regularly.
