Splendens or flavivertex?

I'm in the process of moving my 120 into a 150, and am going to add a couple of fish- one might be a dottyback. Anybody have experiences with splendid or sunrise dottybacks?

I'm particularly keen to avoid fish that fade their coloration in captivity. Concerned the sunrise might be that type...

Hmmm, I've seen some awefully faded splendens too. But I think I'd pick a splendens over flavivertex looks-wise.

Why not an orchid? Much more peaceful for sure, and nicer colors IMO. You can even easily form a pair or trio.

An orchid is such a swank fish, I love it. But, I have a blackcap basslet already, and although somewhat more portly he's got that exact color. Think I can only use one solid bright purple fish.

How about a neon dottyback- are they too rough even for a 150?

i have a flavivertex and my friend has a splendens. the splendens is a mean, grumpy sob! my pseudochromis can get angry sometimes but my friend splendens is always out to get someone, he says other people say the same. i would go with the flavivertex

You can get the neon dottys tank raised. I've got one and seen another that are completly peaceful. I read horror stories of them after my wife bought one and put it in without talking to me about it, it was very pretty but...

Most of the older writings said they were terrors, but the newer stuff says they are much calmer if you get them tank raised.
