Halide vs PC for 20L

I am planning a 20L reef. It will have plenty of live sand/rock, a fish and clams. I don't know what will happen beyond that, but I would like to keep my options open.

I am considering the 30" Orbit 2x65 watt SunPaq w/Lunar Light (PC). I would like to know if MH is a viable option for a 30" or if it worth considering. I can't hang a pendant from the ceiling (tall room). I have not seen a hood-based system for a 30" tank.

Can anyone recommend a MH system for a 30" long by 12" deep tank?

1x 175w 14k halide mounted about 1 1/2ft above the tank.
I ran one on my20l fragtank for ever until I upgraded to a 40 breeder frag tank. Now I run the single 175w 14k halide on a 40 breeder LOL!!
If you want healthy clams, and might want totry sps later on down the road then go with the halide.

I think you would be fine with a single 175 watt. You can buy a mini-pendant and make your own hood. Or put it on a frame. 18" seems kind of high to me.

Someone recently posted some pics of a nano with a hallide and he had made a stand for the light out of copper (painted black) looked nice and an easy alternative for a hood.... I would find the link but I'm on my sidekick (slow net)
