125 G Reef Tank heavily stocked with LPS & mushrooms, Zoas, 3 tangs, 1 mandarin, rock blenny, clownfish, 5 reef chromis, zebra moray. 100G sump, AquaC Ev180 skimmer. I am tired of dosing Kalkwater and was thinking of buying the Korallin 1502 or 3002 Calcium Reactor. Does anyone have any recomendations? Korallin states that a PH controller is not needed with this system. I think that I would integrate one anyway. If Korallin is not desirable, please recommend a suitable substitute..... THANKS!

I know Deltecs are expensive, but I recently received mine and have been incredibly impressed by the build. The latest models are extremely well-designed. For example, I was giddy to see how simple and fast it was to open the reactor to add media (one twist and it's done) ;)

I recently installed a Precision Marine CR622 and I love it. Very solid construction and does a nice job on my 180. They also make a smaller model with a 4" reaction chamber. Good stuff.

I agree with Len

The Deltec's are expensive, but the equipment is top notch, had mine running almost 2 weeks now, dialled in in no time at all, addition of media is a snap, although the media they suggest is also a little on the steep side.

Hey All, Thanks for all of the ideas. My wife, bless her heart bought me a Korallin 1502 Reactor, the Sulfur Bio-Denitrator conversion kit (if I ever need it), and a CO2 set all for my birthday. Yoo-Hoo!

Now that the reactor is on the big brown truck, I am looking for recomendations on media. My local LFS says "just use any aragonite, that the only difference between the 40# bags they sell and the good stuff is fancy packaging". If that is the case, I can get media. If it is not, should I buy fine or course, Knop, Korallin, or something else ? Thanks to everyone for all of the help!

Personally I use ARM. Works well, no need to prerinse. As long as your reactor can push the flow through it well, really no need for anything else. OTher then that, you could get the Schuran(sp) stuff from Premium Aquatics or Aquatic Eco Systems (Cheaper at AES). That stuff is really good and handles lower ph. It's bigger pieces and alot of people love it. If they weren't out at the time, I would of went with that.
