I got 2.5 gallons in about 8 hours

The funny thing is I got a chart from Kent marine listing all the different colors of flow restrictors and the Gallons per day they put out.

Mine is yelllow

Yellow is not on the chart...

Seems to be 7.5 gallons per day though, which can't be right can it? That's pretty slow....

I think it depends on the pressure going into the unit!

I have now made 7.5 gallons which I threw away, 2.5 more and I am making some for the tank...

You may want to invest in a TDS meter if you don't have one, buddy.

Well, last night it filled a 5 gallon bucket to the top overnight.

Temp of the water going to the unit also effects its output. Most membranes are rated at 50 PSI so anything less then that will give you less rejection.

I have too many floods, mostly I use float valves but when ever I need to fill a different bucket I seem to forget it until I here a dripping coming from the second floor.....

Definetly get a TDS before you add that water to your system, or at least borrow one. You can get them on ebay for 12-15$ (handheld Hannah meter)
Defintly adjust your temp of input water to around 70* thats optimum for RO and make sure your getting correct pressure to it... Otherwise it sounds like your in business...

I can't get a TDS meter before christmas, every dollar I spend now is a dollar away from the kids if you know what I mean.

The way I look at it, I am currently using my normal tap water in my tank, so anything the RO unit does to the water can't make it any worse. So I am using it for top off water.

The pressure for mine is 65 psi, and that is what my house water pressure is set at, if I could get away with setting it higher I would, I love having the shower blast the dirt off me.

How would you go about changing the temperature though?
