does anyone know the species or genus of the crabs and shrimps that hang out in anemones? any experiences, are they hard to keep? also, can they be kept with anemones that have a clownfish? tia

The shrimp are in the Periclemenes genus, although Thor amboinensis (sexy shrimp) will go in anemones as well. I'm guessing there are others. The crabs are Neopetrolisthes spp. The shrimp, IME, are much easier to feed and generally adapt better to captivity. They will eat just about any type of meaty food. The crabs are strictly filter feeders and will need at least daily feedings of baby brine or the like.

A friend of mine used to have a huge frogspawn that an anemone shrimp and two ocellaris clowns shared. Very cool. I would go with either ocellaris or percula clowns if you plan on having them share it.
