Hows it skimming?

It skims like a woman. Really good when she feels like it.

It does really well a producing a dry skimmate. It seems to be difficult to dial in the perfect combination of air and dialing down the gate valve on the drain to get a good consistent wet skimmate. I have had is skimming wet perfectly for hours then left it alone and came back to a flooded cup.

I need to find a spot to keep this skimmer on-line even after my Bubble King Arrives. This skimmer has potential and I'd like to see if I can figure out a way to get it skimming very well. Then I could sell it to someone. I may convert it back to a beckett style and sell it as that. If it weren't for those damn marine pills that kept clogging the beckett I would have never converted it a penductor type, nor would I have been shopping for a high end skimmer, like the bubble king.

I adjusted the airvalve a tad a little while ago to see if I could get it to push the head over the edge. It did so in a matter of a 1/2 hour or so. I left the room, so I'm not really sure.

Here's a picture of how it looks right now.

I am going to leave it set like this for awhile and hope it doesn't go nuts and flood the cup.

Hey Louey,

Almost missed this one. Very cool, I'm glad it worked, and I'm glad you went ahead and tried it. I've noticed the eductor skimmers are touchy like that too. Maybe it has something to do with wat 7 and Chris were saying.

You're probably right. I half way expected it to not skim at all.

I wonder how it would skim with an Iwaki 100 running it? I have an extra one. I should hook it up and check it out. Of course, it might blow the lid off it

I have an air valve on it. Works basically the same as a gate except the entire radius from closed to full open is a half a turn.

I supposed a gate valve would allow for a little bit more of fine control.

Ya know, I think I might have a spare 1/2" gate valve in the garage....
