When I first got coral self-propogating devils hand and button polyps in my tank from hitch-hikers from within the live Fiji rock, I knew the ESV B-IONIC 2 part, added 7.5ml into our 29gal reef daily was doing what I want. And switching reeff salt from KENT to Seachem REEF SALT was a wise move, too. I use tap water through a standard kitchen faucet OMNI filter and my tank is thriving. I have 1, 1200 Max Jet airiating out the chlorine gas for atleast 24 hrs prior to use and have a 50watt heater running 24/7. I pre-mix the salt to the level I want....023 to .025. I dont use RO/IO water anymore, we've moved and the water properties changed, too 
Check your tap/water properties metals and phospahte/ph, do a hardness test...corals love it the HARDER, the better!!
My LFS wouldnt recommend lime/Kalk water as it was too messy.
I priced his ESV products and went on line and have been purchasing EVERYTHING 'reefing' online ever since.
