I've got a lawnmower blenny I *thought* was already accustomed to prepared foods at the LFS, but .... Of course, now I'm in a pinch with it almost at the death by starvation point and I'm trying like heck to get it switched over before I do lose it completely..

After a quick once-over at the LFS last night, it looks like all they have on hand is Zelcon...

Can anyone give a quick down-n-dirty of pros/cons of each?? (Zelcon vs Selcon)

Is Zelcon a decent alternative or should I not bother wasting my time and $$ and just get the real deal right off the bat?

Anyone know any other tricks I can try to get my blenny munching prepared foods??

Oh, yeah, and in case I just shot this over anyones head, I've been trying to hang nori and get it going for that but its not even looking mildly curious with it so I was thinking about soaking it in selcon to try and get things kicked up with it..

Any/all thoughts greatly appreciated!

Yep, picked up some nori Sunday evening and I've been trying that since then but it still hasn't "discovered" it yet..

I'm also trying to find some Selcon to soak the nori in so it will hopefully take to it a little quicker (maybe?)..

All my LFS seems to have is Zoecon right now though and I was wondering if fish hit Zoecon like they do Selcon..?

Haven't tried spirulina but I'll give that a try too, thanks.

I never had any luck with lawnmower blennies. Tried two in my old 75G and both died.

What was odd was that they looked nice a plump from eating algae in the tank. They never ate flake or frozen. Then they withered away and died.

Lots of folks have good luck with them. I hope become one of them.

Mine just naturally started eating flakes. Hopefully yours will do the same. He likes Ocean Nutrition Formula Two Flake Food mostly but I have seen him eat carnivorous foods such as Formula One.

He didn't start eating it right off the bat, maybe two months in I saw him grab some. Just be patient and hopefully he will come around to it.

I have had one for a few years now. I have never seen it eat anything other than algae off the rock. It doesn't seem to be starving.
