I really like the shots that some of the reefers take on this board, but how do you do it. This is what I get with a Fujifilm S3000 digital with a macro lens and just flash and ambient light pics. Can anyone give me tricks on how to get such vibrant photos. the tank has been running since late July, and I have been getting good coralline algae growth, and decent coral growth.

I always have the best luck with a tripod, remote and no flash. It helps alot to turn off all pumps and powerheads as well.

Thanks for the replies, I like the tripod idea, but just wondering how long of an exposure should be done? I will definitely use my film camera to toy with exposure time and fstop.

Low exposure with a High flash. Vise versa for low flash or no flash.
I set my ISO from 50-200 for tank shots depending on what I am photo graphing.
Remember the lower the shutter speed the longer you have to hold the camera perfectly still and the more in animate your subject has to be.
I always gett better photos using the flash (more crisp).
