Got a a questions....

Every so oftne i need to bleed the buildup of CO2 from the top portion of the reactor. If i dont the reactor shuts down. The manual states that the best method is to feed with a pump.

If i plug an aqualifter in line do i need to leave the bleed valve open or can i leave it shut?

Then I guess the PH of the effluent will go up so i need to inject more CO2. Does this sound right?

Can't you lower the CO2 rate a tiny bit so that there is less CO2 builtup within the reactor? :?

the needle valve so so picky, if i turn it anymore it will shut down... maybe i need a better valve.....
it is an m3 regulator and solenoid....

what is everyone using?

La Lawman. I am looking to buy the 1502 (package from marinedepot)as well because of the footprint. Have you been able to solve the gas build up problem? I've read other posts of people with the same problem. All started to use a feed pump instead of gravity. Does the manual state what size of a pump to use?

i tappet in to the pump line that feeds my chiller and that seems to be enough water pressure to satisfy my reactor.

I talked with Marine Depot and LA Lawman about this problem. Marine Depot recommends using the Aqua Lifter dosing pump with this CA reactor ($15-). LA Lawman solved the problem that way and says he has had no further problems.

My 1502 and Aqua lifter are on the way!!! :lol:

your reactor will come with some small plastic elbows ,all you have to do is make a small hole in your chiller feed and you wont have to put another pump in your sump that will help heat up your tank and drive up your electric bill. it does work. good luck

Jduffey. thanks for the tip. That sounds like a great idea. However, I am trying to do without a chiller. Lights and the calcium reactor have already broken the so called bank. If, when I ever get my 100 gallon setup I will definitely do that. Thanks again.

I had the same problem with my reactor, all I did was open the effluent rate to a steady trickle. My ppm are still mid 400's...
