mushroom splitting

Hey again guys.

I have a mushroom that is "splitting" on one side. From what I understand and there is a good chance that I am incorrect, isnt that how they "reproduce"( cannot remember the correct word here)?

If so how long does it normally take for this process to complete? If not and there is something wrong with it, what can I do to help it?

Yes, it's a normal form of reproduction for them. Nothing to worry about.

my mushrooms usually take 2 to 4 weeks to split but sometimes i see new little buds emerge all of a sudden, they probably bud off from the mother colonys base.
