I have just spent two hours searching the web and old posts about what skimmer to get for my 80 gallon tank with a 20 gallon sump and there are too many options. I want to spend $150-$200. Please give me recommendations. THANKS!!!

asm g1x or g2 skimmer - www.asmskimmer.com

coralife super skimmer 125g. -http://www.marinedepot.com/md_viewItem.asp?idproduct=ES33002 ... I hear this is a good skimmer for the money.

My reef creations MR-1 http://www.myreefcreations.com
this is a great skimmer for $250 and for and additonal $50 or so you can upgrade the next model up, that is completely upgradeable.

or build your own...

dont cut corners on equipment such as this. it is important to get a quality product that fits your needs. i always spend the extra on skimmers and lighting... your tank creatures are worth it.

you could spend a little extra nad rig the ASM skimmer as a recirc. or spend the good money and buy a euroreef.

I have owned ASM, Euroreef, MRC, CPR, AquaC skimmers and loved them all. I currently have a euroreef and it is very nice.... the other reefers on this board will tell you not to cut corners on skimmer purchase.

I second ASMSKIMMER.com. Great customer service. Rob is very helpful. They also have a BB that is dedicated to skimmer Q@A.
