I only run XM 10K on all my reefs. I know many other tried everything else and just go back to 10k after spending mony of different bulbs.

What wattage are you using and what kind of ballast do you have?

Here is my tank with two 250W XM 10K with two VHO actinic.

my reef is more of a acro tank, but I do keep clams and some lps on the sand bed. like cali I've been using xm10k's. I've turned off the actinics when the halides are on to save electricity.

this is just the xm's on

I use the CoralVue 10k reeflux on my SPS. I have attnics that I only use for sunrise sunset effect. the 10k reeflux doesnt need them.

take a look in my gallery. The pics are old but the 10k's are running. If you looking for better coral colors go with the 10k reeflux. take a look at Sanjays website. I am running them on pfo hqi 400watt ballasts

I was running double ended 150w 10ks and replaced them with 14k because even with actinics 10ks had too much yellow in the spectrum for my taste. Both th 10ks and 14ks were bulbs made by Current (my light fixture's manufacturer). Still, I'm saving up some $$ to get a fixture with 250w MH because some of my SPS species aren't coloring up to their full potential.
