getting old???

my 2 yr. old clown is getting black colored areas on the sides and bottom, the organge has turned black, it does not look like a disease etc. is this an aging effect?? anyone else see this???

Perfectly normal, it's called melanism.

A 2 year old Clown is still very young so it's not really aging. I see it more with Clownfish that are using a stinging animal as a host. I don't know what it is but as David says it's normal and very common. I think it's just a skin reaction to nematocysts but I don't really know.

aging is when your clown is 20 not 2

this seems plausible to me. i had a maroon that hosted in my xenia. after some time, his color got darker.
