inline, what are your experiences with this skimmer? Ease of operation? Quality? Efficiency? Noise level?

I think Alistair is looking for a critique`...... although he didn't ask :fishhit:

Oh,.... the build quality of the skimmer is definitely above the rest of the skimmers out there. I read on the other reef forums that the newer model design with the "Eurolock" neck and the twist adjustment is much better than the previous design with the riser tube as the adjustment.
The noise level is sometimes unbearable, however each time I start up the skimmer it's different; sometimes the decibels is higher or lower.
I've tried many times to figure out what governs this noise level to no avail.
I suggest using alot of thick childrens interlocking tiles as a sound insulation block on the bottom of your sump, sides, top....
The skimmate I would say is pretty consistant and very dark, I'll post pics later tonight.

Overall the skimmer is really easy to use, just make sure your water level is not set too higher, otherwise any little difference in organic matter or additives will cause the skimmer cup to overflow (I guess that holds true for about every skimmer).

Hope this was helpful.

btw - I have a simple PVC skimmer mod that allows for more contact time on my ER.

I wouldn't go past a 75gal with a medium load. JMO

All euroreefs are built like tanks. I run the cs135 now and it works great.
