Well, after being initially stumped by the hydrometers all reading the same and the refractometer being so drastically low, I tested 3 LFS reefs with the refractometer. And the results are.............................
Hydrometers SUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Refractometer was dead on at all three LFS. Which means that thanks to my incorrect hydrometer readings, I have been keeping my reef at 1.033!!!! 3 days later my readings are 1.025. I pulled a gallon a day out of the tank and left my auto top off on a slow drip to drop the salinity. This of course after the first day when my tank overflowed from a stuck float valve lol. So a major first drop, then a slower finish. Starts off crisp, finished strong. lol. Sounds like a commercial.
