when i got my frogspawn home, there was a little peice of tentacle (polyp0 in the bag that had detached. i dumped it in the tank, just because. and today, on one of the front peices of rock, an unmistakable neon green blob has appeared. the only other greeny thing is the frogspawn. is it possible that it made a baby? how do they propagate? i'd post a pic, but my battery is dead.

They mainly branch off I believe forming new skeletal structures and new polyps growing out of them. They can also Bud off as in new polyps arearing on the lower dead skeletal trunk and new polyps will sprout out of them, but this most observed with hammer coral I think.
I have also heard stories but have never seen, that they will "slime" off new polyps as in releasing new polyps by literaly dropping them from the main ployps in an oozing sort of way. ( I think it was frogspawn I heard that about? anybody?)

But seeing as this happend to yours in the bag on the way home I would say it was just rough handling that tore a section of the polyp off and it just became a free floater in the bag.

Yep, you could've incidentally fragged your Frogspawn during transit :P They also bud when stressed (shipping stress could be a catalyst) so maybe that's what happened too. Take care of that little baby and it will grow to be a big colony someday 8)

sweet! the little blob that bumped off in the bag was bigger than this little speck-baby, but it's there, right smack dab in the middle of the tank! cool.
