I would think that with as long as I have been doing this I would have made up my mind by now. 6500K, 10K, 15...20K
Personally I don't like the 20K too blue for me. Calfo talks a lot about 67500K for the nice color sps. What are you guys and gals useing.

I use 10000k & 14000k combos. Of course don't let the color temp sway your view since no two bulbs are the same :)

I've been running the Reeflux 10K for over a month now. Everything blue just screams, but I don't get much pop out of green, pink, and orange. Plus, after the burn-in, I've now got an overall pinkish hue. I'm not getting the bluish tint that others speak of, probably because I'm running an HQI ballast.

I picked up a Radium today, and will start running it tomorrow. You can ask me in a couple of weeks, after the burn-in, what I think of it. I'm told that the Radium is like a 12K-13K and nice PAR with the PFO ballast.

I used to run XM 20k's on my last tank with very slow growth, they were very blue, people thought i had a sunbed on all day in the basement, i even had the cops round thinking i was growing something i shouldn't have  as my old basement had windows.

I now run XM 10k's with VHO actinics, coraline and coral growth is excellent, my Ca & Kalk reactors are having trouble keep up with demand.

HTH

6,700 K is great for growth, but makes some corals brown out due to too much zooxanthelle in there tissues.

Put it like this, 6,700K is awesome for shallow water coral, but for deep water coral...ehhhh. This is because the color is close to what the sun reproduces in 1 foot to 5 feet of water.

20,000K is awesome for deep water coral because not too much of the reds, oranges, yellows, and greens make it down to the depth of where deep water coral is found.

Thus, it is best to pick a spectrum that is best for the type of coral that you grow.
