Do you ask your LFS to special order drygoods?

oh.. and on the subject...

i rarely ask to have somthing oredered.. has happend before though.

MOST of the time (not always) a lil cheaper even after shipping, AND THERES NO SELLS TAX. On big items it can really add up.


That being said Id rather buy from my LFS if possible. Just because I dont have to wait on the item and I like to support the local yocals.

The sales tax issue is a big one for etail vs. retail - and you're right it can make a huge difference on a big ticket item. I've heard rumblings for several years on imposing sales tax for ecommerce but haven't seen it happen yet.

Etailers with a retail presence in any state where their online customers shop, are required to collect sales tax - places like Staples/Staples.com charge tax because they have stors here.

Following that thinking it's actually cheaper for people living farther away (out of state) to buy from etailers.

Only drygoods I buy from the local fish store was my tank and my salt. Other than that I buy everything else online.

I rarely buy coral or fish online. I'd rather see them in person and buy them that way.
