Yeah, I know, facetious title. Just picked up a Majestic Angel. He had just gotten his adult colors (still some discoloration). Anyway, after proper acclimation, I released him into the tank and he just sank to the bottom. His breathing is slightly heavy but not intense. He didn't even try to hide in the rockwork, just went to the bottom of the tank and is laying on his side.

He was in QT for 3 weeks, but was sluggish from the time the LFS bagged him. Is he in shock? Will he get over it, or does it sound more serious than that?

I would ask them to keep it for you for a few days... but I don't know if that would had many any difference. Don't know what to tell you, other than say good luck. Sorry.

Oh, BTW, welcome to RDO!

Maybe they injured the fish while catching him. Sounds to me he willl not survive. Its not normal for them to sink and lay on their side. Fish may do that fter traveling for a day or so but thats not your case. Sorry

Doesn't sound good, but it could just be a temporary state of shock. Did it eat in QT? How exactly did you acclimate it to the display tank?
