I'm going to be ordering either a 70 gallon or 90 tall (36" x 18" x 25" or 31") and am wondering if anyone has experience comparing Glasscages with Oceanic. I had an Oceanic and it was great, but I can get the extra height in the 90 Glasscages tank for the price of the Oceanic 70...

Advice, testimonials anyone?

Thanks, Peter

Oceanic is built really well, but from what I have seen Glasscages is pretty good as well, I have just recieved my special order acrylic 12gal tank from Glasscages and I think it is definately cool (they will do custom things like drill holes, glass overflows, euro brace etc.) Louey is another reefer here with a custom in glass from Glasscages look at his thread for pics and more info.

For larger tanks, glasscages prices are tough to beat. Oceanic wanted %$5700 for a 96X25X30. That price didn't included low iron glass. Glasscages was only $1400 including low iron glass and there shipping was only $100, to Orlando. They ship to these shows that they do in major cities and if you can meet them there you save hundreds on shipping as well.

Oceanic is a better built tank. Overbuilt if anything. If you have money to throw around, get the Ocenic. If money means something to you, get Glasscages.

I Love my tank.

i have a 225g GC and a 75g GC... the 75g is the newest... GC's craftsmanship has definitely gone up with their newest tanks... most notably, cleaner siliconed joints.
