Are we talking the regular snails we all have in our tanks that some people call turbos, but are really astrea snails? Or are we talking about actual turbo snails, as in turban snails?

Or worse yet, are we talking about all snails?

I was just at my LFS and they had hundreds of snails....should I pick up a few dozen just to be safe? :?

I better tell the boys at the Steinhart to start expecting thousands of snails from confiscated shipments.... :?

Astrea snails IE atlantic turbos and cerith snails are ABUNDANT in florida waters. as well as nassarius, and cerith (baha snails).
No threats of a snailless tank that I can see for those of us in the US.
Just over seas.
Thee talking about strictly imports right? Not native?

Seem to me they are talking about internation and interstate transport of aquatic snail. The LFS can still sell snail to me. The issue is where the LFS get the snail from may need a permit to sell the snail to the store. Does not sounds to be a big deal to me.

Costco CalRose rice is less than $8 for a 50lb bag. I like that. But if I have to pay $5/lb for snail, I may need to eat less snail and more rice...

So they are now requiring a permit for snails and will inspect more packages that might contain a snail. Yet something like 5% of all containers arriving in the US ports go un inspected. Yeah save the rice.
