I'm being lazy how does the Phoenix rank?

109 PPFD on a magnetic according to Sanjay's tests.

That's not to bad for a 14kk bulb.

Yeah, it's very good. Considering good German 10K 250 DEs like the BLV 10K and the Ushio 10K in the same configuration put out 111 PPFD and 103 PPFD in Sanjay's tests, it basically puts it right in with the 10K crowd as far as output but still has the bluish tint.

I hope Iwasaki makes their new Aqua2 tube in 250 DE eventually. It's only available in 175 watt Mogul right now, but it's really impressive (a true 14K color with higher output than similar wattage 10K lamps). The amount of light produced for the power used on an electronic ballast is far better than any decent colored halide lamp we've seen to date in the hobby. Supposedly higher wattage Mogul versions will be out later this year...

I thing premium aquatics and reefscienc has them. IIRC they are about the same prices as XM's
