Premium Aquatics.com good stuff? or hit the LFS for...

so i was looking through the site and was thinking about picking up four snails, and two hermits.

also for 15 smackers, i think i can talk the mrs into letting me get a cleaner shrimp. we have seen a few at local shops for no less than 30.

am i getting what i pay for?

For just a few snails and such I would go with LFS. If you are buying in any quanity then I would go with keyscritters.com

PA has very top notch customer service and I have spent thousands on dry goods there over dozens of orders. I have never had a bad expirence with them before.

Premium is great, but don't forget that your going to have to pay for overnight shipping on those critters, which will more than offset any savings. Shipping will probably be over $50.

I bought LR from them and it was awesome. I've never bought any livestock from them. I bought a bunch of cleanup crew stuff from inlandaquatics.com once, and it was all good.

PA is great. But as suggested for a few snails probably better off going local.

You are in NYC right? If you cant find any in the city, try Absoutelyfish in Clifton, NJ - not far from the GWB.

I have ordered once from premium aquatics and found them to be very good. For instance, I requested USPS delivery not UPS and they went the extra mile for me.

Even though I still have the macros I ordered from them, I would recommend for the stuff you want to go to the lfs. The total price of a small order to your tank will probably be cheaper with local purchase. Plus you can pick and choose.


Additionally, with one time smaller orders the on line guarantees are worthless. You have to pay shipment for any replacements. And that is usually more than just buying locally to replace the losses.

I've ordered livestock and drygoods from them numerous times over the past eight years. Never had a problem.
