There are many knowledgeable people here so I figured I would ask here.

I've been trying to find out what this fish is for over a year.

Any help is appreicated. I saw it in Roatan Honduras.

It appears to be a Flying Gunnard, probably genus Dactyloptena sp. I'm not very familiar with fish off Honduras, but I believe Dactyloptena orientalis is the only species in this genus.

I'm probably wrong since fishbase says the distribution of Gunnards don't extend that far east of the Pacific.

Thanks guys. I am amazed I actually was able to find it with the camera it is hard to see in the sand.
