I have always read that before performing your water change you should try to match as closely as possible the parameters of the freshly mixed sw to the tank water. I do this for temperature and salinity and I put a ph in for 24-48 hours before doing the water change, but.........
As it relates to calcium/alk levels, how do you do this? Do you put additives in the water-change water? Or do you just go with the levels that the salt mixes up at?
Just looking for opinions on the matter b/c most people maintain calcium and alk levels in their tank well above what the salt mixes up at.
Thanks for your input.
