This months Advanced Aquarist had a very interesting article by Dana Riddle concerning the lighting we use and bleaching of corals. I found the article to be facinating and was wondering what some of you more advanced reefers technical guys thought of the article and what the data and testing used has to say about the possible validity of the corralation of lighting and temperature in the phenomena of coral bleaching in our captive reef systems.

Are any of you reefers concerned at all about this data???

I may be biased ;) but I've always respected Mr. Riddle. His articles in Aquarium Frontiers and Advanced Aquarist have often pioneered new theories and ideas and have always been presented in a very readable format.

I, too, was intrigued by his latest theory that temperature from lights and not just the PAR may play the significant role in bleaching events. The data certainly supports the possibliity :)
