Dinos, diatoms, or algae?

I'll get a pic as soon as I can. But a brief description is: neon/flourescent green coating on everything that's exposed to the lights, green film grows back on the glass in less than 1/2 hr, is not slimey like cyano. It's a new 10g tank, less than 2 weeks old at this point. So it's probably still mid-cycle, haven't done a water change yet. No livestock, but about 18#'s of live rock. Been keeping temps high 70's, ph low 8's. 96w lights, on about 11hrs a day. (too much light maybe?)
I did use tap water as the initial fill up, but have an RO unit on order for the rest of my changes and top offs.

So, if it's dino's I shouldn't worry too much because they'll die off on their own eventually?
Algae, I'm not too worried about, I can pick up some algae eaters.
Diatoms, I'm unsure about. Haven't dealt with them before, not sure if they're worth worrying about at this point.

Any guesses?

Good old fashion algae.

You have no reason to worry about algae until your tank is months old (1 year mark). If you get insane algae like that then...something is wrong.

Since your tank is new, you will have algae. It is excepted as a tanks destiny that the first couple weeks to up to months old, get algae of all forms.

I put an RO on my sink and used it for top off's and RO alone (not even DI) reduced algae. Like magic. (the only time I will say "like magic" because there is no "magic" in a reef tank, only work. Most water that comes from the city or town sucks.)

Time, good filtration of water (RO and your tanks water), good reef keeping, and creatures that diet on algae will help you during this period and through out your reef's life.
