$40 a couple of times. I don't get the whole LE hype or the jacked up prices for little frags. Especellay when the jacked up prices come from other hobbiest.
Supply and demand my friends...supply and demand....PM's are expensive but they grow extremely slow and nobody is usally willing to cut their prize coral...hence price is high...makes sense to me.
I've been known to pay TOP price for TOP corals...worth it to me because I farm them out and supply back to the public...its part of the, "love of the hobby"
FWIW-I'm sure Tyree's sittin' purdy....where did he get those names...
I used to think coral people were ridiculous. Then I started growing Cattleya species orchids. In orchids, pedigree is everything, and clones or divisions of a certain clone can garner hundreds to hundreds of thousands of dollars. FOR A PLANT. I'd much rather buy unawarded seedling crosses of excellent parents (for about $15 as apposed to $150 for a young clone of an award winning plant), and grow a clone that may become awarded in the future.
