I'm not a chemist..at all. I picked up this test to measure what my KH is, mainly because I'm having issues with coraline algae, and wanted to measure this.

PH is 8.2
Calcium is 450.

What should my KH be for a reef tank? I didn't run the test yet.

TIA

Mine usually runs between 3.5 and 4.5 meq/l. The think the conversion to DKH is 2.8. I have excellent coraline growth.

My levels are higher than NSW, but supposedly a higher alkalinity helps SPS corals achieve higher than natural growth rates, assuming all else is within excellent parameters.

Your PH and CA look most excellent.

Ok, my dKH is 9, which is right, smack-dab in the middle of that chart for reefs! :P Thanks!
