Well, in the past couple of weeks, I've lost three clams. They all first exhibit pinched mantle appearance, then they soon whither away and no longer can contract and close up (these are the same clams I thought my shrimps were picking up, but it turns out they weren't healthy).

Karl mentioned doing dips, and while I can do that, wouldn't the disease reinfect the clams after it's reintroduced? Apparently, there's something in the water that is targeting clams :(

Sorry to hear that, Len :(

I currently have 4 clams (maxima, crocea, and 2 hippopus). My maxima and crocea developed pinched mantle shortly after introducing the 2 hippopus'. I gave all 4 a 30 minute FW bath. It only took one FW dip to cure the crocea. I don't know how PM effects hippopus since it doesn't extend it's mantle over the shell :?

It took four, 30 minute FW baths to cure the maxima, with the last two dips having the aid of Reef Dip (iodine-based).
