Just acquired a couple of awsome looking crocea clams. In doing some research I came across a comment on placing the clams on a hard substrate. Should I avoid placing them on sand on the bottom of my tank? Or should I place on my live rock? Any input would be appreciated.

They would do best on a secured spot in the rockwork, but some might have them attach to a small piece of live rock, halfshell, or disc, and than placed in the substrate.

Here's a pic of mine, with the shell almost comleted imbedded in the crevice of a live rock:

Place them on hard rock (they have a tendancy to slowly bore into the rock) with lots of light.
