One more faux sand bed question

Well I think just one more.
Is there any cure time. I mean beyond that epoxy's cure time. Like when you make your own rock you have to cure it for some time before using it. Is this like that or once it is hardened are you good to go? I am using envirolite.

I would rinse and soak it a few times, maybe let it stand overnight in vinegar.

I'm completly ignoranct on this one....what is a faux sand bed? A piece of sythnthetic somethingor other to look like sand? Why?

sorry to just jump in here, but its my first post on reefs.org
i did a bit of messing around with a test faux sandbed, here's a link to a picture of how it turned out, looked really good, except i think detrius will still settle in some of the small holes, and algae and coraline wont come of it easy....
