so i picked up my 60g cube today and its built like a tank!

looks great

problem is there isnt a lot of room underneath for sump.

IS there a problem, besides just volume, with running a 10g sump witha Mag9.5 return pump?

Thanks.

Depending on how you divide your sump, evaporation could be a problem. If you haven't bought the 10 (and you have the extra height), you could try a 15 High-Same footprint as a 10 with 6" more height.

Yes. You will not have room for much of anything. Not to mention you will need to keep the water level low to keep from overflowing during power outages. You will more than likely have bubble problems.

Have you built/purchaesd your stand yet?

If not make it 6" longer and 3" wider. It will give you more space than it sounds.

You can also save some room by not using 2x4's for the leggs. Use doubled 3/4" plywood. Nail/glue them together for the whole sides then cut out the back and front. If I we doing it I would have the inner sheet match up with the foot print of the tank and the outer sheet tall enough to cover the trim. This would be if you want to keep your stand close to the 24x24 foot print.

I have a ten gallon sump. Works alright, but my skimmer is a HOT on the tank, no room for it against the wall. My fault when I set up the system, just didn't leave enough room in between the wall and the tank.

The only problem is the backflow when the power goes out. Test that well.

It helps to have an external pump on a closed circuit for most of your waterflow so you don't have to run a lot of water through a small sump.

would there be a problem with rigging somthing to hang my Remora on inside of the sump, so that the bottom of the skimmer almost rests on the bottom of the tank? That would cut me plenty of room. I could then run the water level up to the return level of the skimmer.
